  • Liability: Applications of Negligence and Liability Evaluations - Considered the crux of effective liability claims management, AE21’s staff is skilled in its ability to analyze duties owed and breached, and develop firm, fair evaluations of claim exposure.
  • The Doctrines of Property Adjusting - This course takes students through a detailed examination of the most commonly encountered residential dwelling and homeowners coverages, introduces them to traditional property adjustment doctrines, and presents them with most of the typical claim scenarios encountered by property adjusters. The course contains a broad array of interactive exercises scattered throughout the course to reinforce retention and ability to apply critical adjustment doctrines.
  • Strategic Claims Negotiations - This half-day program covers the art of claims negotiation as well as concepts and principles that have proven successful time after time over the decades. These principles include, but are not limited to, the importance of an investigation, knowledge and information, an accurate evaluation of exposures, the assessment of the strengths and weaknesses of one's position, the deployment of offers and demands, and other tips for claims and legal practitioners.
  • Medicare Setasides & Claims Management - The Medicare Setaside law affects ALL types of insurance claims, i.e. auto, general and products liability, No Fault/PIP, workers’ compensation, uninsured motorist, and any other type of insured, self insured or uninsured right of recovery to which an injured party may have access.  But few carriers and practitioners really understand where the true risk and exposures lie.  This course provides adjusters and management personnel important practical and legal background information, a current update on the Medicare Secondary Payers Act, and how you can effectively use this information in the resolution and settlement of claims.
  • Auto and Motor Vehicle Physical Damage Adjusting - In this course, students will learn how to handle first party physical damage claims for damage to personal and business use automobiles commonly insured under the Personal Auto, Business Auto, Garage and Garagekeepers coverages. Students will explore traditional automobile adjustment doctrines and work with most of the typical claim scenarios they will encounter as an Auto PD adjuster.
  • The Legal Doctrines of Workers’ Compensation - Knowing the laws of workers’ compensation is only the first step on the road to becoming a successful claims adjuster or case manager. This one-day program provides a detailed examination of the most common legal doctrines that arise in the investigation and analysis of compensability, and in interactive group discussion applies these doctrines to common factual situations.
  • The Psychology of Claims - Despite the intended security of insurance, injuries to people and losses to property can and do often have devastating financial and social consequences on those whom they impact.  The objective of claims adjusting has always been to carry out the promises of insurance by helping those who suffer insurable loss, to appropriately determine applicable coverages and/or liability, and make prompt and fair payment. Yet there are also those who reap financial benefit out of adversity, and it is important that all parties to the insurance mechanism promote the objective of the claims profession as to its true objective in order for the insurance mechanism to work. For nearly 10 years, this half-day customer service program has consistently been given high marks for its effectiveness with both new and experienced claims professionals as it focuses on the perspectives of insureds or third parties who suffer loss and closely examines the various motivational influences that often complicate and facilitate the claims process.
